VERENI MUISTI

Vereni Muisti (The Memory of My Blood) is a performance specifically created for the exhibition opening Veden Muisti (The Memory of Water) of Paula Suominen at Galleria Napa, Rovaniemi, Finland

The female figures in the drawings and painting of Paula Suominen are fleshy and powerful. They are fully present women without the need to explain or trying to please anyone. Death is also present. The bones are starting to show. And nature, as parts of plants, seeds, the already blossomed flower.  

My female figure invites you to a short dance with with lust and death. The pomegranate as a symbol of fertility, a heart and a broken vessel from where blood runs, deep red and staining.
